JAMIE and Louise Redknapp have been living separately after the celeb couple decided to take a break from their marriage.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Louise had split from her husband after 19 years together – but the pop star has revealed the pair have no plans to divorce and speak every day. Here’s the latest…
What are Jamie and Louise Redknapp most famous for?
Jamie Redknapp is a retired England footballer, who started his career on the pitch playing for AFC Bournemouth.
He is the son of football manager Harry Redknapp and was a midfielder for Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton before hanging up his boots in 2005.
Jamie, 44, now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, writes a newspaper sports column and is a team captain on Sky’s A League of Their Own panel show.
Louise found fame in 1993 as one quarter of girl band Eternal.
In 1995, she quit the pop group and embarked on her own solo music career, going on to release three platinum-selling albums and had hit singles with the likes of Naked and Two Faced.
Louise has also worked as a judge on the UK version of the TV show So You Think You Can Dance? and was a runner-up in the 2016 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
How long have Jamie and Louise been married?
Jamie and Louise tied the knot in June 1998 and shunned a huge, showbiz wedding.
The couple actually got engaged and married all in the same week, while on holiday in Bermuda.
Louise was just 23 at the time and last year told the Mail Online their nuptials were “private and small” and “perfect”.
She added: “Neither of us wanted a big, glitzy wedding.”
The couple have two sons together, Charley, 13, and Beau, eight.
Why have Jamie and Louise split?
At the time, pals close to the couple blamed the infamous Strictly Come Dancing ‘curse’ for putting strain on their relationship.
Louise’s career prospects soared after she appeared on the BBC One show last year and her work schedule was involving a lot of travel.
In July The Sun’s Dan Wooton reported that her “close friendship with Daisy Lowe” could be to blame.
In an emotional interview published in Stella magazine on October 7, Louise confirmed how the BBC show made her drastically rethink her life, forcing her and Jamie to live apart — as we reported in June.
Louise said a turning point came when Daisy Lowe burst into her dressing room and told her: “Oh, my God look at your gorgeous body. You have to wear a sexy dress.”
The star admitted: “She kept on at me to wear something sexy and by week three, I was in a leotard and tights not feeling self-conscious at all.”
Louise gave up her pop career to become a full-time mum but confessed to looking on enviously as husband Jamie went from being a pro footballer to a presenter on Sky Sports and panellist on TV’s A League of Their Own.
She has admitted to feeling like a Stepford Wife trapped in a Surrey mansion trying to be the perfect mum and wife.
While Louise has still being wearing her wedding ring, Jamie was spotted at a charity golf tournament in October without his band.
What has Louise said about the split?
Louise finally broke silence on the state of her marriage
When quizzed about the state of her marriage by host Eamonn Holmes Louise said:”I think that it has been so heavily documented and of course we all go through hard times.
“My priority and his priority is our children and protecting them and keeping as much of it as private as possible and loving them and putting them first and that’s what we’re focusing on.”
Eamonn went on to ask if work had helped her at all and she candidly told him: “I think going back to work has been a real saviour for me.
“Doing Strictly, it does something. For me it was all about performing and to go back on stage every night and get the opportunity again.”
