RUTH Langsford has become one of the biggest stars on British TV alongside her husband and former Sky News host Eamonn Holmes.

The Loose Woman and popular presenter is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing 2017- here’s what you need to know about Ruth.

Who is Ruth Langsford, how old is she and what’s her background?

Ruth Langsford is a 57-year-old TV presenter most known for roles on Loose Women and This Morning.

Born in Singapore, the star was raised across several different countries in her first ten years of life before eventually settling in the UK.

She made her presenting debut in 1997 on The Really Useful Show, and since then she has mainly worked with ITV.

The exceptions to this include How the Other Half Lives for Channel 5, and her own QVC segment titled Ruth Langsford’s Fashion Edit.

She currently acts as the Friday host of This Morning with husband Eamonn Holmes, and they also cover for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield when they take holidays.

When did Ruth meet Eamonn Holmes?

Ruth has been with husband Eamonn Holmes for the past twenty two years – and have been married for seventeen.

They were introduced through mutual friend, TV presenter Sally Meen.

Ruth and Eamonn became engaged in 2009 and they married in June 2010.

The couple have one son, Jack, born in February 2002.

Since then, they have become known for their on-screen banter and “squabbling like an old married couple”.

They present This Morning together every Friday.

What is Ruth’s net worth?

Ruth is currently estimated to be worth £3.8million in sole earnings according to several estimation websites.

This is taking into account her long-standing role as a weekly presenter on This Morning and Loose Women and her claim to the £3million house she shares with her husband.

However, this number is just an estimation and doesn’t take into account Eamonn’s earnings.

When is Strictly Come Dancing 2017 on and who are the judges?

Strictly Come Dancing launched on September 9 on BBC One, with the live shows kicking off on September 23.

Strictly always airs on BBC One in two parts. The main show is on Saturday normally around 7pm and the results show airs on Sunday at a similar time.

There will be a Christmas special again in 2017, with the celebrity participants expected to be announced in early November.

This year sees a new judging lineup after head judge Len Goodman retired.

He will be replaced by Shirley Ballas who joins returning judges Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel-Horwood on the panel.

There will be three new professional dancers joining the existing pros; Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden and Nadiya Bychkova.
