THE APPRENTICE is back and another batch of delightfully obnoxious candidates are doing their best to impress the boss.
Among the this year’s intake of 18 ambitious businessmen and women is Ross Fretten. Here’s all we know about Lord Sugar’s new candidate…
Who is Ross Fretten and what’s his background?
Ross Fretten is 29 years old and lives in Essex – although on his Twitter his current location is London.
The bright young entrepreneur is CEO of Kibble a pet training and health app.
The app was inspired by the research Ross did when he first got his beloved dog Sailor.
Ross said: “I was getting stopped so many times every day by people on the train, in the street, even hardcore dog addicts in dog parks – all wanting to know how Sailor was such a well behaved puppy.
“I realised I could really make a difference to all these dogs I could see being confused and misguided by their well-meaning but equally misguided owners.
“I invented Kibble – a dog training and health app and spent the second half of the year finding time alongside my full time job to create a prototype and test it with existing and about-to-be dog owners.
“The results were overwhelmingly positive.”
Ross developed and launched his pet-lovers’ app while working his full-time job, as a digital product consultant.
In his current job, Ross helps businesses launch and improve their digital products and services.
He doesn’t have a role model, preferring to trust his own judgement and forge his own path rather than following in the footsteps of others.https://www.instagram.com/p/BNaS-GbF-ds/?taken-by=rossfretten
What does Ross Fretten like to do in his spare time?
If Ross’ Instagram can teach us anything about the wanna-be apprentice, it’s that he loves his dog and he loves adventure.
It appears all sorts of nature excite Ross with pictures of stunning landscapes and wildlife featuring on his page.
He may well be planning on taping into that “animal instinct” in the show.
Ross explained that his tactic is to let people “dig their own graves” before burying them in the boardroom.
He said: “I’m usually the smartest person in any room and I’ll make sure people know that.”
What is The Apprentice and when is on BBC One?
The Apprentice is a hit BBC reality show, now about to enter its thirteenth series, featuring hour-long episodes.
It continues next week on Wednesday, October 11 at 9pm on BBC One.
Each series of the programme aims to find a new apprentice for billionaire business mogul and Amstrad founder Lord Alan Sugar, who’s worth £1.4bn.
The show began in 2005 and has a US equivalent that kicked off in 2004, with Donald Trump in Lord Alan’s equivalent role.
There are celebrity and junior versions of the UK show, too.
Lord Sugar fires the director of the trailer for the new season of The Apprentice – before the end of the teaser itself!
