MATT Le Blanc got two new sidekicks as he takes the wheel on Top Gear after Chris Evans left the show.
So who is Rory Reid? Here’s the lowdown on the newest face of Top Gear…
Who is Rory Reid?
Rory is a 37-year-old journalist that specialises in technology and cars in his work.
In this field, he had previously worked under CNETs Car Tech channel.
He started working as a tech journalist after completing a computer science degree at the University of North London.
He is the former editor-in-chief of Recombu magazine, but has now stepped down from the role and now works as a brand ambassador.
Rory was noticed by Top Gear bosses after submitting a video of his skills as a presenter to an open audition – the only hopeful of the round to be picked.
Where else would I have seen him?
Before moving over to the main event, Rory and his co-star Chris Harris hosted the spin-off show of the main series, called Extra Gear.
However, his most known job is as a YouTuber who contributes to comedic car channel, Fast, Furious and Funny – which has amassed 320,000 subscribers.
He was also the presenter for the short-lived Sky TV show, Gadget Geeks, which ran in 2011. It was not picked up for a second series.
