X FACTOR hopefuls have all manner of back-stories, but Matt Linnen may just be the most handsome plasterer/musician the show has ever seen.
The aspiring superstar has been plying his trade and is hoping that the judges will see a little bit of the X Factor in him – here’s the lowdown.
Who is Matt Linnen?
Matt Linnen is a 28-year-old singer from the Southend, Essex.
He’s a plasterer by trade but he has a lot of amateur experience on the music scene having played some small gigs around the UK.
He likes to play solo but he’s even had an impromtu duet with Connor from Nothing But Thieves.
Matt will be hoping to impress the judges with his soulful voice by singing Ray LaMontagne’s hit Trouble.

When is The X Factor 2017 on ITV and who are the judges?
After launching on September 2, X Factor 2017 will continue every Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
The show begins, as always, with auditions as the nationwide hunt to find this year’s winning act begins.
Despite heavy speculation of a judging shake up, the panel has remained exactly the same as last year.
Alisha Dixon has also been appearing in the auditions, having stepped in as a guest judge when Sharon and Nicole were unable to attend.
It’s the first time in seven years that X Factor bosses have kept the same judging panel as the year before.
A source said: “The chemistry was perfect last year, so it’s only natural to want to bring the same line-up together again.”
Dermot O’Leary will be returning to hosting duties after making his big comeback to the show last year.
