KEVIN Clifton has become a firm favourite due to his dazzling and personality on Strictly Come Dancing over the years.
So who is Kevin, whose sister Joanne and wife Karen have also competed on the BBC dancing show as professionals? Here’s his story…
Who is Kevin Clifton?
Kevin Clifton is a 34-year-old professional ballroom dancer who is most known for his work with the Strictly team.
Born and raised in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, the star’s mother, father and sister are also all pro dancers.
His sister Joanne stars alongside him on Strictly – and their sibling competitive spirit has driven the pair to both make the finals throughout their tenure on the show.
Since joining the show, Kevin has never failed to reach the finals but has also never taken home the trophy – making him the only professional to achieve reaching four grand finals in a row.
Who is Kevin Clifton married to?
Kevin tied the knot with Karen Hauer – another Strictly professional – in July 2015, after meeting in New York while working.
He proposed to her on her birthday on stage as they starred in a touring production of Burn The Floor.
After the pair got married, Karen decided to take on her husband’s last name professionally, and is now known as Karen Clifton.
Describing his wife as a “nut case”, Kevin said: “We have such a good laugh together all the time.
“My life wouldn’t be what it is today if it wasn’t for Karen. She’s perfect. She’s always been my best friend.”
He was previously married to Clare Craze, but the pair split in 2010 after a three-year marriage.
In 2017 Kevin and Karen went on tour together for the first time, and the dates went ahead despite the fact an injury left Kevin unable to walk properly.
The loved-up Strictly pair told the tale of their romance through dance in solo show Kevin and Karen Dance.
