THE APPRENTICE is back and another batch of delightfully obnoxious candidates are doing their best to impress the boss.

Who is Jeff Wan and what’s his background?

Jeff was born and raised in Hong Kong but moved to Canada to go to University of Waterloo in Ontario and study Mathematics.

Then he hopped across the pond to get his Master’s degree in Operational Research and Finance from Southampton uni.

On his LinkedIn account Jeff claims to have spent “his life in different parts of the world” and describes himself as a “diverse and multicultural individual”.

The international chap also speaks three languages; Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

After graduating Jeff went on to work for city giants K.P.M.G. and then J.P. Morgan as an associate.

Jeff said he hopes to “succeed in business and build a legacy”, he’s also expressed admiration for Lord Sugar’s empire and has been a fan of The Apprentice since he was a teenager.

He said: “I bring character, charm and swagger to the table. Coupled with my professional and educational experience, I am sure I will be able to separate myself from the rest.”

Doesn’t seem too obnoxious. Oh no wait. He also said this: “I’m going to throw people under the bus and I’m going to get on the bus, take the wheel and get that investment.”

In his spare time Jeff likes to break dance and has even performed on stage at the O2

What does Jeff Wan like to do in his spare time?

You may be surprised to hear that Jeff likes to cut some shapes.

More than just a casual hobby Jeff is actually a semi-pro hip-hop dancer.

The dedicated dancer has trained several times a week for the past 10 years and has even performed on stage at the O2 arena.

He was, unsurprisingly, a member of University of Waterloo Breakers society at college and also follows a number of London-based dance groups.

Hopefully he’ll be able to shimmy his way into Lord Sugar’s heart.

What is The Apprentice and when is on BBC One?

The Apprentice is a hit BBC reality show, now about to enter its thirteenth series, featuring hour-long episodes.

It continues next week on Wednesday, October 11 at 9pm on BBC One.

Each series of the programme aims to find a new apprentice for billionaire business mogul and Amstrad founder Lord Alan Sugar, who’s worth £1.4bn.

It aims to recreate the toughest of business environments and tasks for its set of contestants, but it is often very funny due to the incompetence and arrogance of the competitors.

The show began in 2005 and has a US equivalent that kicked off in 2004, with Donald Trump in Lord Alan’s equivalent role.

There are celebrity and junior versions of the UK show, too.

Lord Sugar fires the director of the trailer for the new season of The Apprentice – before the end of the teaser itself!
