JANETTE Manrara is taking part in her fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing this year.
She’ll be competing against her husband Aljaz on the show, but what else do you need to know? Here’s all you need to know…
Who is Janette Manrara, how old is she and what is her background?
Janette Manrara, now going by her married name Skorjanec, is a 33-year-old professional dancer.
Born in Miami, Florida, the American comes from a Cuban family and formally studied dancing from the age of 19.
She began her career performing in musical theatre at the age of 12 before studying all areas of dance, and finished her dance training while studying Finance.
Janette worked for a Hispanic TV station at this time and also danced with Jennifer Lopez on stage.
Her first taste of telly fame came when she took part in the 2009 series of American reality show So You Think You Can Dance?.
Then Janette joined the Strictly family in 2013 where she was paired up with fashion designer Julien Macdonald – but the pair were booted out of the competition in week four.
After two more years dancing with Jake Wood and Peter Andre, she was paired with DJ Melvin Odoom last year but they were eliminated in Week One.
Is Janette single?
Janette is married to Aljaz Skorjanec, a Slovenian professional dancer six years her junior.
He also acts as a pro partner on Strictly Come Dancing after joining in 2013 at the same time as Janette.
They’d been together for six years before that.
Janette says if she could have one superpower it would be the ability to turn herself invisible so she can sneak around and see what’s going on.
When she isn’t dancing, Janette is hanging out with fiancee Aljaz or focusing on interior design – she says a trip to Ikea is a perfect day out.
