LOTS of families enjoy a singalong in the car but not all of them decide to audition for The X Factor!
But that’s exactly what mum and daughter duo Debye and Hayley Norton decided to do on this year’s show. However, at Bootcamp stage Hayley was advised to go solo and her mum waved goodbye to the competition.
Who is Hayley Norton?
Hayley Norton, 20, and her mum Debye, 40, made up the act called Descendance and they delivered a funky version of Macklemore’s megahit Can’t Hold Us.
The pair describe their relationship as a “bond that nobody could ever break”.
Descendance began singing together around three years ago and say it “just clicked” from the start.
However at the Bootcamp stage of the competition Simon Cowell advised Debye to let her more talented daughter go it alone and they duo split.
And Hayley is clearly no shrinking violet after it emerged she had enjoyed a whirlwind romance with another contestant.
The Sun has revealed how Hayley enjoyed a late-night tryst during bootcamp with fellow wannabe star Russell Jones, 25.
An X Factor source said: “Russell and Hayley met each other at boot camp at Wembley Arena in London and there was an instant attraction between them. Emotions were running high and they took things back to the bedroom.
“Their night of passion was quickly the talk of boot camp and they did little to try and hide it.
“It’s not clear if it’s going to develop into a full-blown romance but they are definitely having fun with each other.”
Lady Gaga fan Hayley, of Belfast, and Russell, of Pontypool, South Wales, have since posted snaps together on social media declaring their love for each other.
When is The X Factor 2017 on ITV and who are the judges?
After launching on September 2, X Factor 2017 will continue at 8pm every Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
The show begins, as always, with auditions as the nationwide hunt to find this year’s winning act begins.
Despite heavy speculation of a judging shake up, the panel will be remaining exactly the same as last year.
Alisha Dixon is also appearing for certain audition shows, having stepped in as a guest judge when Sharon and Nicole were unable to attend.
It’s the first time in seven years that X Factor bosses have kept the same judging panel as the year before.
A source said: “The chemistry was perfect last year, so it’s only natural to want to bring the same line-up together again.”
Dermot O’Leary has returned for more hosting duties after making his big comeback to the show last year.
