THE APPRENTICE is back for another year and it’s brought with it another batch of delightfully obnoxious candidates.
Among the latest intake of 18 ambitious businessmen and women is Elliot Van Emden. Here’s all we know about Lord Sugar’s new candidate…
Who is Elliot Van Emden and what’s his background?
Elliot Van Emden is a 31-year-old London resident.
He is currently the director of legal firm Bridgewood Legal Limited, which he established in August 2015.
The savvy entrepreneur is also commercial director of Parliament Street, a political think tank that employs Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo as their Events Manager.
He explained “what you see is what you get” with him, and that he aims to band together the other candidates that he deems to be the strongest.
He also said: “Sometimes to get to the top, you have to grease the pole behind you”.
That imagery is gross Elliot.

Has Elliot Van Emden dated CBB’s Katie Waissel?
X Factor reject Katie Waissel is the former girlfriend of Apprentice hopeful, The Sun’s Bizarre column can exclusively reveal.
The Sun’s Bizarre column exclusively revealed Celebrity Big Brother star Katie Waissel, 31, enjoyed a short-lived romance with Elliot Van Emden, 31, before she found fame on Simon Cowell’s talent show.
A source said: “The pair used to date years ago – Katie wasn’t at all surprised to see that he’s doing the business show.”
What does Elliot Van Emden like to do in his spare time?
Elliot’s mates have not gone with the more predictable “Smelliot” for his nickname but instead opted for “Tory boy” as he used to work in the office of David Cameron before
he became Prime Minister.
A source from inside Mr Cameron’s office at the time told MailOnline he was the “opposite of ruthless” when he worked there as an intern.
The source said: “He’ll be out [of the competition] fairly soon, there wasn’t any killer instinct.
“He was sweet, a nice bloke. He didn’t do anything special for David Cameron (not inner circle – or in any circle for that matter), he was an intern working in the correspondence unit (basically copying and pasting emails).
“He wanted to go and be an investment banker and seemed bright and determined and the sort of person who might make it.”
