BUDDING star Drew Wedlake already has his own EP under his belt, and his music videos attracts thousands of listeners.
But now the Bristol-based singer is hoping to make the leap to superstardom by appearing on this year’s series of The X Factor – here’s the lowdown on him.
Who is Drew Wedlake?
Drew Wedlake is a 22-year-old who works at his family’s Bed and Breakfast in Bristol.
However, even before appearing on The X Factor his music had amassed him sturdy social media following – with one of music videos racking up nearly 20,000 views.
The budding star, who also has a passion for boxing, even released an EP titled Get Crazy in 2015, which can be bought on iTunes.
He has X Factor pedigree, too, having knocked around with the show’s former winner James Arthur – he posted a pic of the pair together back in 2014.
A cover of the star’s hit ‘Impossible’ is one of many on Drew’s YouTube channel, which also boasts his takes on hits like Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Skin’ by Rag ‘n’ Bone Man.
Supported by 20 friends and family at his audition, the X Factor hopeful performed ‘Seven Nation Army’ by The White Stripes in a bid to wow the judges.
When is The X Factor 2017 on ITV and who are the judges?
After launching on September 2, X Factor 2017 will continue at 8pm every Saturday and Sunday on ITV.
The show begins, as always, with auditions as the nationwide hunt to find this year’s winning act begins.
Despite heavy speculation of a judging shake up, the panel will be remaining exactly the same as last year.
Alisha Dixon is also appearing in the auditions, having stepped in as a guest judge when Sharon and Nicole were unable to attend.
It’s the first time in seven years that X Factor bosses have kept the same judging panel as the year before.
A source said: “The chemistry was perfect last year, so it’s only natural to want to bring the same line-up together again.”
Dermot O’Leary will be returning to hosting duties after making his big comeback to the show last year.
