Who is Charles Burns and what’s his background?

Charles Burns is a 24-year-old Management Consultant from Manchester.

Currently, Charles has his fingers in many business pies, including a management consultancy, a watch trading company and a comparison website.

He believes his best qualities are his passion, drive and determination but admits he can talk too much and doesn’t always listen. He says as long as it’s within the rules, he will stop at nothing to win.

He says: “When life throws you lemons, make and sell lemonade for a healthy profit.”

What is The Apprentice and when is on BBC One?

The Apprentice is a hit BBC reality show, now about to enter its thirteenth series, featuring hour-long episodes.

It starts TODAY (Wednesday, October 4) and airs at the same time as The Detectives: Murder On The Streets on BBC Two, Doc Martin on ITV and Grand Designs on Channel 4.

Each series of the programme aims to find a new apprentice for billionaire business mogul and Amstrad founder Lord Alan Sugar, who’s worth £1.4bn.

It aims to recreate the toughest of business environments and tasks for its set of contestants, but it is often very funny due to the incompetence and arrogance of the competitors.

The show began in 2005 and has a US equivalent that kicked off in 2004, with Donald Trump in Lord Alan’s equivalent role.

There are celebrity and junior versions of the UK show, too.

After returning on October 4, The Apprentice is on every Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.

Lord Sugar fires the director of the trailer for the new season of The Apprentice – before the end of the teaser itself!
