ONE of them is a Gogglebox regular who appeared in the very first series, while the other is a relative newbie in comparison.
But who are Sandra Martin and her daughter Chancez, and why is the latter’s place on the sofa slightly controversial?
Who is Sandra Martin?
Sandra, 54, made her debut in the very first series of Gogglebox – back in March 2013.
At the time, the larger-than-life lady, from Brixton, south London, was joined by best pal Sandi Bogle.
She’s a favourite of Gogglebox viewers, and had been forced to deny that she was considering taking part in Celebrity Big Brother when it returned in summer 2017.
Grandma Sandra split from her fiance Derek just before Christmas 2015, having popped the question over New Years the previous year.
She is known for her extravagant jewellery and big gold rings, and Sandra set up her own business Ringsandtings in 2015.
Who is Chancez Channer?
Chancez, 23, is Sandra’s daughter – who first appeared on the show in December 2016.
At the time, industry insiders said there were “no plans” for Chancez to join the show on a permanent basis.
However, ahead of the eighth series kicking off in February 2017 it was announced that Chancez would be a permanent fixture on the show.
Who is Sandi Bogle?
Sandi, who is also known as Sandy Channer, is Sandra’s best pal of 40 years.
The singer released her first single, Casanova, last year – and says she has new TV opportunities in the pipeline.
Speaking about her music plans last year she told The Sun: “I’ve got a vocal coach and a management team. I’m loving it so I definitely want to do more.
“I’m looking to do an album. It’s about bringing back good music, bringing back the old school.
“Nowadays you can’t tell what people are singing about, you don’t understand what they’re saying.
“I think I’m better than quite a lot of artists out there now because they’re the same old, same old.
“It’s getting kind of boring and I’m keeping it real, as I do.”
Sandi left Gogglebox at the end of 2016, but says she has been told the door is always open for her to return.
What time is Gogglebox on Channel 4?
Gogglebox is on Channel 4 TONIGHT, Friday September 22, at 9pm.
It follows the ninth series which ended in June.
Airing once a week, each of the episodes lasts an hour – and fans can expect at least 15 episodes at that’s how many there were in series nine.
How much do the Gogglebox families get paid?
A Gogglebox insider told The Sun Online that each of the families taking part are handed a monthly family allowance of £1,500.
The amount is then split amongst contributing family members at their own discretion.
The monthly wage comes with its own added perks and each of the families receives free takeaways to keep them going through each sitting.
How many hours of TV do the Gogglebox families watch?
In exchange for the £1,500 fee (and free food) each of the families are expected to commit to 12 hours of filming a week across two six-hour shifts.
