ITV’s new gameshow sees contestants tackle daring water-based activities to varying degrees of success.
But where did the contestants fly to for Cannonball and when did filming take place?
Where is Cannonball filmed?
The wet and wild programme was filmed in the balmier climate of the Mediterranean in Malta, in late April.
ITV issued a casting call for contestants which confirmed that the Malta Film Studios in Kalkara would be set up for a variety of water-based challenges.
Michael Kelpie, Managing Director of Potato, the production company for the show, said: “Everybody loves a great waterpark when they’re on holiday and Cannonball is the gameshow version of the best waterpark in the world.”
When is Cannonball on TV?
The first episode of Cannonball aired on Saturday, September 2 at 7pm on ITV, and it continues every weekend.
Each week 24 contestants face challenges in a custom-built water park, including tackling a giant swing and a launching themselves cannonball-style at a target.
There will be ten episodes, a Christmas special and a Splash Hits show featuring the highlights from filming.
Who is presenting Cannonball?
Presenters Radzi Chinyanganya, Maya Jama and comedian Ryan Hand are also on hand to capture the action as the contestants fly or belly flop into the water.
Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff said: “What’s not to love about this show: Gallons of water and giant great inflatable slides are the perfect recipe for some spectacular comedy moments but also throw into the mix some truly incredible feats from the contestants. I can’t wait to get started!”
