When is The Supervet next on Channel 4 and what is it about?
The Supervet is on tonight (October 5) on Channel 4 at 8pm, with the episode lasting an hour.
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is back with the rest of the team at their cutting edge practice.
In the series, Noel works on some of the hardest-to-cure pets from across the country and attempts to cure animals that might otherwise be beyond saving.
Who is Professor Noel Fitzpatrick?
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is an Irish veterinary surgeon who opened his pioneering private referral practice Fitzpatrick Referrals in Surrey in 2008.
Since opening the surgery, Noel has taken part in the BBC documentary The Bionic Vet in 2010 and the Channel 4 series The Supervet.
Noel has received a Guinness World Record for his pioneering operation on Oscar the cat, who was the first animal in the world to receive two bionic leg implants.
He has also been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Surrey for the advancement of animal health. Noel is also a Professor and founding member of Orthopaedics in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey.
What animals are featured on episode two of The Supervet?
Tonight’s episode features a basset hound named Barney who lives a life of luxury – including a diet of salmon and venison – but who has spinal problems.
Also in need of an appointment with the Supervet is Tank, a giant mastiff who needs radical surgery on his elbows due to arthritis.
