BLADE Runner 2049 is the hugely anticipated sequel to the 1982 sci-fi smash hit and cult classic Blade Runner.
Now, Ryan Gosling is set to take over – and will bring Harrison Ford back to the dystopian Los Angeles once more. Here’s all the info on the Hollywood blockbuster which is out next week…
What happens in Blade Runner 2049?
Blade Runner 2049 is the sequel to Ridley Scott’s original 1982 cult classic – rather than a remake.
The original, which was set in 2019, has paved the way for this one, with new LAPD Blade Runner Officer K (Ryan Gosling) stumbling across a long-buried secret which could threaten the city.
As a result, he goes on a hunt to track down Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) – who hasn’t been seen since the events of the original film.
When is Blade Runner 2049 out and is there a trailer?
The film will be released in the UK on October 6, 2017.
As the run-up to the film’s release began, the bosses have been slowly teasing fans with what’s to come – starting with two new posters for the forthcoming Blade Runner 2049 film.
While the posters don’t give away too much, it looks like the dystopian future envisaged by Ridley Scott and film writers Hampton Fancher and David Peoples hasn’t exactly improved.
One poster shows Harrison’s character Rick Deckard standing in a dusty environment with a largely destroyed statue.
Above it, the poster says: “You know his past. Discover his future.”
Meanwhile the second shows Ryan’s Officer K in a mysteriously misty environment and posing beside a sleek, futuristic car.
His tagline reads: “A new civilization begins now.”
The latest official trailer for the movie is here:
