When does The Last Post start on BBC One?

The Last Post starts on BBC One on tonight, October 1 at 9pm.

The first episode goes head-to-head with Dragons’ Den on BBC Two, Victoria on ITV, Electric Dreams on Channel 5 and The Expendables 3 on Channel 5.

The series runs for six episodes.

It will be available on the iPlayer after it has aired.

What has The Last Post about?

The show is written by BAFTA winner Peter Moffat.

The Last Post is based on his childhood memories and his father’s career as an officer in the Royal Military Police.

It will focus on his mother’s struggle with being what the army required her to be.

The series is a close up view of army life set in the heat, glamour and extreme danger of Aden (Yemen) in the 1960s.

Jessie Buckley

Jessie Buckley was born December 28, 1989 and is an Irish singer and actress.

She shot to fame when she came in second place in the BBC talent series I’d Do Anything.

She is more recently known for starring in ITV’s War and Peace.

Jessica Raine‎

Jessica Raine was born May 20, 1982 and is an English actress.

She is known for playing midwife Jenny Lee in the first three series of BBC One drama Call the Midwife.

Amanda Drew

Amanda Drew is a British actress.

She is best known for her role as May Wright in EastEnders.

Ben Miles

Ben is born November 1, 1966 and is an English actor.

He is best known for his starring role as Patrick Maitland in the British TV comedy Coupling, from 2000 to 2004.

He also played Peter Townsend in the Netflix drama The Crown (2017).

Stephen Campbell Moore

Stephen was born November 30, 1977 and is an English actor.

He is best known for his roles in the Alan Bennett play The History Boys and its subsequent film.
