Trigger Happy star Dom Joly in Ikea row after delivery firm ‘refuse to hand over his goods before driving off because there was residents’ only parking bay’

COMEDIAN Dom Joly filmed an Ikea delivery driver apparently refusing to hand over his goods – before driving off with them still in the back of his van.

The furious Trigger Happy TV star said the row erupted after the driver refused carry his items to his flat as he was “not allowed to deliver above the first floor”.

But when Dom, 49, said he would carry them in himself, the driver apparently said he couldn’t as his van was parked in a residents-only bay.

The comic then pointed out an unrestricted parking bay across the road, but when he went to buy a parking ticket for the driver, the white van man sped off.

Outraged Dom blasted: “I don’t know how Ikea do business but f***, I’m angry”.

The TV star filmed himself confronting the delivery driver and his colleague sat parked outside his flat in West London yesterday.

He said: “This company’s turned up to deliver my furniture to up there (his flat).

“They’ve rung me up and said they can’t deliver above the first floor.

“Now they won’t get out of their van because they’re not in a permit place.

“I’ve said I will pay for them to park there (pointing to a non-restricted space opposite) and I’ll carry the stuff up myself and they still won’t.”

Dom, who had taken a day off filming to sort the arrival, returned 15 minutes later and said: “We could have delivered everything by now.”

The driver, wearing a hi-vis jacket, was on the phone and initially refused to wind down the window.

He said: “I’m not going to speak to you because you’re just rude.”

The footage captioned “Ikea delivery insanity first world problems” and posted on Dom’s Facebook page has been viewed more than 100,000 times.
