TRANSFER NEWS LIVE UPDATES: All the latest on Philippe Coutinho, Diego Costa, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and more…
Perisic’s agent flying in for talks
12:45: Ivan Perisic’s agent Fali Ramadani will arrive in Milan shortly to discuss his client’s future, reports claim.
Italian website Calciomercato suggest Ramadani’s meeting will determine whether Perisic extends his deal at the San Siro, or joins Manchester United in a £39million deal.
Mourinho has hinted at another marquee signing after publicly saying his squad was “75% complete” and that he wants a player who “can play from the sides.”
Martial’s going nowhere
12:30: Anthony Martial will remain at Manchester United this summer, his cousin Jemael has confirmed.
Martial, 21, has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United with Inter Milan and Tottenham reportedly tabling offers to sign him.
Jose Mourinho has rejected both approaches as he does not want Martial to leave the club.
And his cousin, who is also a journalist, has reiterated this by revealing that he is going nowhere.
The tweet, written in French, read: “For Manchester United, Anthony leaving is not an option, even on loan. They rely on him.”
Martial’s cousin has since deleted the tweet from his account.
Ozil’s the Premier League’s best!
12:15: Who is the best player the Premier League? It’s Mesut Ozil of course!
That’s according to Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who believes his compatriot is underrated.
He explained to France Football: “The strongest player in England, I think? Mesut Ozil. He is really, very strong.
“You get the impression that he does not care, that he is nonchalant, but at one point he will put a pass that nobody has seen.
“He always knows everything before everyone else. That’s what is fabulous about him.”
Wenger not budging on Oxlade-Chamberlain
12:00: Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Premier League trio have been linked with a move for the versatile midfielder, who still hasn’t agreed a contract extension beyond June 2018.
But manager Arsene Wenger has reiterated his desire to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Emirates.
He said: “I want him to stay here for a long time. He’s the English player in the next two years that a lot of people look at.”
Gundogan back in action
11:20: Ilkay Gundogan made his first appearance in eight months for Manchester City yesterday when he came on as a second-half substitute against Girona in a friendly in Spain.
The German midfielder, who suffered knee ligament damage against Watford last December, could be in contention for a place in the squad for Monday’s home tie against Everton.
Girona beat City 1-0, with the 26-year-old coming on as a substitute in the 71st minute.
Conte at breaking point
11:00: Antonio Conte’s relationship with the Chelsea board is at breaking point once again.
The Italian boss is unhappy with Chelsea’s lack of transfer activity during the transfer window and with time running out Conte has made no secret of his desire to land fresh talent before the window shuts on August 31.
But it seems Conte has also had disagreements with the board over the players he has already signed.
The Blues have splashed the cash on Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger and the former’s arrival reportedly raised concerns with the boss.
Morata arrived for a club-record £70million fee from Real Madrid and has been tasked with filling Diego Costa’s boots with the Spaniard exiled from Conte’s plans.
And Yahoo Sport claim Conte feels Chelsea overpaid for the 24-year-old.
He was also frustrated with the amount of time it took to conclude the deal that led to Morata’s pre-season being shorter than planned.
Dembele deal agreed – could be good news for Liverpool
10:50: Ousmane Dembele has agreed a move to Barcelona – handing Liverpool a major transfer boost.
Bundesliga expert Lee Price says a deal for Dembele to leave Borussia Dortmund has been done and it has had a significant knock-on effect on Liverpool.
Price believes the bumper fee Dortmund are demanding – said to be in excess of £90m – will leave too big a hole in the Barcelona bank balance.
Despite selling Neymar for £200.6million, he thinks they won’t have enough cash to complete a deal for Philippe Coutinho.
Price told Express Sport: “Dortmund have agreed to sell Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona, it’ll happen. It’s just the fee that needs to be finalised.
“The German club are holding out for as much as they can possibly get – and more than £90million would be an incredible result for a player that cost them a tenth of that a year ago – which could scupper Barca’s interest in Philippe Coutinho.
“In any case, even with the sale of Neymar, the Catalans couldn’t afford both Dembele and Coutinho. They would’ve needed to find extra financing.
“Now, once Dembele joins, there’s going to be less money and, crucially, less inclination for Coutinho.
“That will lend itself well to Liverpool’s hopes of convincing him to stay another year.”

Wenger doesn’t see Costa/Sanchez similarity
10:45: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t think any caparisons can be drawn between Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa.
Costa’s seeking a move back to Spain in the transfer window and has not played for Chelsea since the FA Cup final in May, following which he claims manager Antonio Conte sent him a text, telling him he was not in his plans for the new season.
Meanwhile Sanchez, 28, has not played for the Gunners this season and still hasn’t signed a contract extension at the Emirates with Manchester City speculation still rife.
But Wenger doesn’t think the situations are similar because Arsenal want to keep Sanchez.
He said: “No, I don’t think that Costa has only one year to go. I don’t think there is any comparison at all, because we want him to be with us and Chelsea does not necessarily want that.”
Liverpool close to Keita alternative
10:25: Liverpool are close to sealing a move for Nice’s Jean Michael Seri.
The Reds recently joined Arsenal in the race for the midfielder by making contact with Nice officials.
And it seems talks are going well between the two clubs with the French outfit said to open to selling Seri if a respectable offer comes in.
Seri is under contract with Nice until 2019 and has a release clause of €40 million (£36.6m).
French sources at TransferMarketWeb claim the Reds are ‘about to seal the deal’ that will see Klopp pip Arsene Wenger to his signature.
The Gunners have been tracking Seri for some time but will only make a move for the Ivorian if they sell players before the transfer window shuts on August 31.
But it seems Arsenal could well miss out on Seri with Liverpool eager to wrap up a deal.
Seri has been dubbed the ‘African Xavi’ for his playing style in France and the former Barcelona star has even declared his admiration for the 26-year-old.
Coutinho ready to strike
10:05: Philippe Coutinho is ready to effectively go on strike in order to seal his dream move to Barcelona, according to stunning reports in Spain.
Coutinho was absent for last night’s 2-1 victory in the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Hoffenheim, and Spanish sports paper Mundo Deportivo say Coutinho is ready to tell Liverpool he will not play for them again if they don’t let him leave.
It is claimed the 25-year-old is willing to risk his place in the Brazil team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia next summer in order to do so.
Mundo Deportivo add Coutinho has already told Jurgen Klopp he does not plan to pull on a Liverpool shirt ever again.

But Everton are finally set to secure their number one summer target at a price slightly lower than Swansea had wanted and take their summer spending to over £140million.

09:30: Aston Villa are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer with just one year remaining on his current contract.
West Ham, Newcastle, Swansea, and Italian side Sampdoria have reportedly expressed an interest in the England international.
But The Daily Mirror claim Aston Villa has entered the race with Steve Bruce keen to bring in another marquee signing following the arrival of John Terry.
It is said he is willing to offer him a big contract and bonuses in the hope of luring him away from the Emirates.
However, Wilshere could stay and fight for his place after returning to full fitness for the Gunners against Derby Under 23s on Monday night.

Trio ask about the Ox
09:00: Manchester United and Liverpool have both made enquiries over Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but Chelsea remain frontrunners to sign him.
The Arsenal winger is yet to agree a new contract at the Gunners with his current deal running until the end of the season.
Arsene Wenger is determined to keep hold of the England international but his uncertain future has led to interest from their Premier League rivals.
And according to the Gambling Times, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have all approached Arsenal to discuss his availability.
While Liverpool and City have both been linked with a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the past, news of United’s supposed interest could spark another summer battle between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to sign another wide player before the transfer window shuts later this month.
However, Chelsea are confident they can see off competition and prise him away from the Emirates.

Wimmer, 24, joined Spurs on a five-year deal for a reported £4.3million in May 2015, but has failed to establish himself under Mauricio Pochettino.
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace, Stoke and West Ham have now emerged as potential suitors, and will battle for his signature.
Ramos provides Hazard warning
08:00: Sergio Ramos doesn’t think Real Madrid should sign Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.
Zinedine Zidane is reportedly pushing for Hazard’s signature with French superstar Kylian Mbappe set to stay with Ligue 1 champions Monaco.
However, Diario Sport says Ramos isn’t a fan of the idea.
The report claims Ramos thinks Hazard, 26, would cause friction in the derision room, and has advised president Florentino Perez to reconsider the idea.

Ox wants £150,000-a-week
07:10: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants £150,000-a-week to join Chelsea from Arsenal.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is out of contract at the Emirates next summer, has outlined his demands.
Chelsea still want Belotti
06:54: Chelsea are still interested in Andrea Belotti as they look to replace Diego Costa.
Costa gave an interview at the weekend revealing all on his exile at Stamford Bridge.
And the Daily Star say Chelsea are looking to recover from their Costa crisis with a move for £80m-rated Torino hitman Belotti.
But the chances of Costa obeying his club and returning to Stamford Bridge look unlikely.
A source close to the Spain international said: “I really don’t think he is in the right state of mind.”

ICYMI Usain Bolt offered trial by Burton Albion!

Bolt, 30, wants to become a professional footballer after hanging up his running spikes after has repeatedly talked up a move to the club he supports Manchester United.
And his dream could become a reality not at Old Trafford but the Pirelli Stadium with Burton chairman Ben Robinson keen to offer him a trial.
Robinson told The Sun: “I’m sure we would (offer a trial) and that the manager would. He’s quick, if nothing else!
“He’s done great for his sport athletics and if you look at Adam Gemili who was in the 4x100m relay he played football when he was younger.
“We would be very interested, obviously. I’m sure the manager would give him a trial.
“The standard is very high (in the Championship) and obviously he would need a level of talent to get his place in the team.”
