TOWIE filming was thrown into chaos yesterday when a fight kicked off between Mario Falcone, Mike Hassini and Jon and Chris Clark.
The four cast members got into an argument while filming, and it got so heated that the show’s production crew had to step in and drag them apart.
“It was really dramatic – the cameras were rolling the whole time and you’ll definitely see it on the show,” an onlooker told The Sun Online.
“Jon thought Mario was ‘digging him out’ so stepped up to confront him, and then Mike and Chris waded in when they started arguing. No punches were thrown, but there was pushing and shoving.
“It all went off so quickly, production crew had to run in and hold them apart so they didn’t hurt each other.
“Jon thinks Mario is always saying bad stuff about him and it’s always to do with Lauren, who Mario used to date.
“Jon doesn’t get why Mario’s so obsessed with him and Lauren, and wishes he’d mind his own business.”
A spokesperson for Towie said: “Our production team had to step in when a scene between four of the boys became heated.
“No punches were thrown and no one was hurt, however aggressive behaviour during filming will not be tolerated and disciplinary action will be taken if deemed appropriate.”
It was clear that tension was building between the two cast members earlier this week – after The Sun Online revealed they’d had an angry text exchange while watching the show.
Mario tweeted that he’d had a message from a “cast member” about his comments on Towie – and we revealed it was Jon who had sent him the message.
During Sunday evening’s episode of the show Mario is seen warning Lauren off Jon after it emerged he had been texting his ex Chloe Crowhurst.
Revealing there had been beef, Mario took to Twitter to reveal he had been receiving “heated” texts from a cast mate.
Believing he had been insulted by Jon on the show – which he wasn’t watching – in a now deleted tweet, Mario wrote: “Have I been a ‘f’ing snake’ or a ‘slippery c#%t’ on this evenings Towie?
“Got a heated message from ‘cast mate’ earlier, and curious?”.
A source close to the reality stars revealed it was in fact Jon texting Mario after watching him be less than complimentary about him in the episode.
But Mario had got the wrong end of the stick about being insulted – and Jon’s ‘snake’ comments were in fact directed at Jordan.
The source said: “Jon was the one who was messaging Mario last night – there’s a lot of tension between them as Jon’s dating Lauren – and Mario used to date Lauren.
“Jon just feels like, even though Mario’s moved on and he’s engaged to someone else, every time something goes on with Lauren, he has to stick his oar in.
“He keeps hearing from people sly comments Mario’s made, or things he’s been saying, and he’s sick of it.”
