TIGER WOODS has admitted he may never be able to return to competitive golf.
The former World No 1 has bagged 14 Majors but is continuing his recovery from injury and personal issues, including an addiction to painkiller drugs.
Woods, who has not played since pulling out of the Dubai Desert Classic in February, is now 41.
And asked if he could see himself never returning to the course again, he said: “Yeah, definitely.
“I don’t know what the future holds for me. We’re taking one step at a time, it’s a process and I’m in no hurry.
“There were some intrepid times, not just for this golf tournament but for life going forward.
“My timetable is based on what my surgeon said. I’m still training. I’m getting strong.
“But I certainly don’t have my golf muscles trained because obviously I’m not doing anything golf-related.

The man who changed the face of the game has seen his personal life fall apart in front of the world since he was revealed as a serial love cheat in 2009.
Earlier this year he was found asleep at the wheel of his car by police and shocking dashcam footage showed him barely able to walk and slurring his words.
He was later found to have five drugs in his system – including xanax.

Woods, who revealed he is now hitting shots up to 60 yards and chipping around the green, is one of captain Steve Stricker’s assistants at this week’s Presidents Cup.
That role will mirror the one he performed at last year’s Ryder Cup, where he helped Davis Love’s side to their first victory since 2008.
