THE Apprentice’s Claude Littner has revealed he NEVER speaks to any of the candidates during filming.
Lord Alan Sugar’s right-hand man says he gives them all the silent treatment because he doesn’t want to be accused of favouritism.
Claude is back on the panel as one of his advisers, along with Karren Brady, and he has revealed there are plenty of awkward silences during filming as he never speaks to the candidates.
He and Karren are both sent out to watch the teams as they take part in tasks, but Claude insists they won’t get a word out of him.
During an appearance on Lorraine today, he explained: “I never speak to them. Ever.
“I ignore them completely. If I start being friendly to one of them, I have to be friendly to all of them and it would be unfair.
“So I’m rude to all of them.”
During the chat, he opened up to Lorraine about his TV career and admitted his aspirations go no further than The Apprentice.
Claude admitted he has turned down the chance to go on a number of other reality TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Masterchef, and Mastermind.
He said: “Strictly asked me, but I can’t dance.
“Masterchef, but I can’t cook, and Mastermind, I don’t know anything.”
Lord Sugar uses Claude and Karren as his “ears and eyes” on the ground during each week’s tasks.
He used to be helped by silver-tongued Nick Hewer and uber-shrewd Margaret Mountford.
But after legal aid Margaret left in 2009, West Ham CEO Karren took over the role.
Then, in 2014, PR guru Nick left The Apprentice, and Claude stepped into replace him after years acting as one of the official interviewers during the CV round.
The Apprentice returns tonight at 9pm on BBC1
