Susanna Reid says Harrison Ford is welcome any time to punch Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain

SUSANNA Reid seems delighted with the suggestion that Harrison Ford could punch Piers Morgan.

The Good Morning Britain co-host – who presents the ITV breakfast show three times a week with Piers – looked gleeful as she told how Harrison Ford would be welcome any time on the show after saying he would not “un-ignore” a suggestion that he punched Piers.

Told by Richard Arnold that they could do with him to gentle punch Piers, Harrison seemingly agreed.

He said: “The suggestion will not go un-ignored.”

Putting on his best Harrison Ford voice, Piers replied: “The suggestion will not go un-ignored.”

He then added: “Well that’s a direct threat, isn’t it? Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones, has just made a direct clear threat to cause me physical harm.”

Susanna deadpanned smiling: “Right. And he’s welcome anytime according to Richard Arnold.”

Piers: “Well, you know what? Bring it on Indiana, I’m ready for you buddy.”

Fortunately for Piers, it’s clear Susanna was joking as she has previously opened up about how well she gets on with her co-host.

Susanna and Piers are now famous for their on-air battles – and flirtations – and she insists it’s not for show.

She told Prima magazine: “The chemistry between Piers and me was instant.

“He totally wound me up from the moment he joined Good Morning Britain, nearly two years ago.

“He’s the most annoying man I’ve ever met, but I find working with him exhilarating.

“Yes, he drives me nuts, but he also makes me laugh – and when the chips are down, and there’s a big news story breaking or we’re doing a controversial interview with a politician, I trust him.”

While it’s been said on multiple occasions that Susanna looks “on the verge” of losing it with her co-host, she insists that will never happen.

She continued: “Some breakfast shows are like a nice cup of tea in the morning. Ours is like a double espresso!

“There’s a tension and adrenaline there, partly because of our relationship.

“People joke they watch to see if I’ll finally snap, which I promise you I won’t because, after two years, I’ve learned to handle Piers just as he’s learned to handle me.

“The combative element of our relationship is definitely not staged. It doesn’t start when the show does at 6am. It’s how we are with each other, on and off air.”
