RUTH Langford was left red-faced after she accidentally addressed her dance partner Anton du Beke by her husband’s name.
The This Morning presenter and Anton had been speaking to Zoe Ball on Strictly: It Takes Two when Ruth accidentally called him Eamonn.
Ruth had been talking about why she enjoyed performing the Charleston as she said: “I loved the Charleston, because my grandma taught me that.
“So when Eamonn…Anton taught me the steps, I said, ‘Oh my granny taught me that!”
The presenter hadn’t even been aware about her blunder until Zoe pointed out her slip up.
Ruth couldn’t hide her surprise and replied: “Did I? Oh, they’re just moulding into one now!”
Meanwhile Anton recently said he thinks she has what it takes to ‘go all the way’ in the competition.
The 57-year-old failed to impress during the first show of the series after nerves got the better of her but professional dancer Anton is undeterred.
Appearing on Loose Women today, alongside Ruth, he revealed that she is a ‘natural’ at her next dance – the Charleston.
He said: “She’s got a natural talent for the Charleston. I think she’s got the potential to go all the way.”
The 50-year-old went on to discuss the nerves that Ruth felt on the night and landed her in the bottom two.
He said: “Having done last Saturday night, that is the biggest thing she take from the show.
“There’s nothing like the nerves you get on Strictly. You think in your life you have been nervous but sat on the sofa and when Alan goes ‘and dancing the waltz Ruth Langford’, she turned to me and said who’s that?
“Your legs go numb. It’s the most incredible feeling. There’s nothing quite like it.”
Ruth added: “It’s like your legs belong to someone else.”
But being positive about the weekend ahead, he joked: “Next week we’ve got the Charleston and it’s magnificent, my favourite bit is her cartwheel. And the lifts!”
Meanwhile Anton also found time to gush about his twins with wife Hannah Summers, who were born in March of this year.
He said: “You can’t explain it until you have children. I love every second of it. If I could get through the night without sleeping I would just sit there and look at them.
“I did the night feeds when we were doing it. I dance to them, I sing to them. It’s brilliant.”
And as Anton continued to talk about how amazing his son and daughter, Ruth confirmed how smitten he was saying: “Every time I go to the loo he’s face-timing Hannah.”
