SHARON Osbourne endured a controversial episode on X Factor tonight when her decisions left the judges and the audience furious.
The veteran judge, 65, had viewers riled when she refused to give Scottish singer Nicole Caldwell a seat during the Six Chair Challenge, but things were about to get far worse.
After Jenny Ball had performed Simon Cowell made it very clear that he did not think she was good enough for the competition.
He told her: “Jenny, there was a girl who got a no earlier on who was very similar to you called Nicole, and if I had to choose between you and Nicole I would have chosen Nicole based on tonight, so if she got a no and you got a yes, that would be crazy in my opinion.”
However Sharon didn’t agree, and told her: “I like you I connect with you, I am gonna give you a chair, I am gonna ask seat number five.”
This meant she popular contestant Shanaya Atkinson-Jones was getting the boot and Simon was furious.
Banging his hands on the desk he yelled: “What?!” and then exclaimed. “Bloody hell.”
Louis Walsh was speechless, while a dumbfounded Nicole simply said, “I cannot believe she did that.”
However Jenny’s success was short lived as she was soon replaced by Deanna Mussington who had travelled from the Caribbean to compete.
The drama was ramped up a notch when Sharon later decided to give quirky Grace Davies a seat and kicked out the hugely popular and talented Alisah Bonaobra – who had begged judges to give her a second chance at Bootcamp.
As the audiences yelled their disapproval, the contestants and judges looked equally shocked.
Before walking away from the desk, Simon told Nicole: “Simon: “I would have made very different decisions tonight.”
As contestant Kelsey came on it was tough to hear her speak over the furious audiences chants to bring Alisah back.
Finally understanding their rage she told them: “Please come on guys. I appreciate how you feel, it’s the hardest thing in the world, can you at least give me until we see the last two girls.”
Her final singer was Georgina Panton, who was Simon was a huge fan of and clearly too talented to not be rewarded a seat.
Still feeling the brunt of everyone’s fury, Sharon decided to bring Alisah back for a sing off between Rai-Elle Williams and Scarlett Lee, resulting in makeup artist Scarlett leaving the show.
And as the show episode came to a close viewers were fuming.
One wrote: “#ScarlettLee that was so cruel. She didn’t deserve to go home. A great talent with low self-esteem which you have added to @MrsSOsbourne”
Another tweeted: “This is why Cheryl & Mel B are the only female judges on that show that actually knew what they were doing ffs Sharron #XFactor”
A third added: “Sharon has lost her head! Someone get her a taxi #xfactor”
And someone else raged: “Honestly, I think Sharon needs to give up her seat to someone who actually knows what they’re doing.”
