SELENA Gomez’s best friend Francia Raisa showed off her scars on the red carpet after she donated a kidney to the singer and actress.
The actress stunned in a studded white blazer over a sheer top and push-up bra where you could just about glimpse the scars from the surgery which was performed earlier this year.
Looking happy and relaxed, Francia joined a slew of stars at People’s One’s To Watch event in Los Angeles.
Last month, Selena, 25, revealed Francia had donated her kidney after she was left needing one amid her ongoing battle with Lupus.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease with symptoms including body aches, fevers and extreme fatigue – it can also lead to kidney and heart damage.
Francia, who is best known for staring in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, has said very little about the procedure herself but following Selena’s announcement she posted on Instagram.
She wrote: “I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process.
“This was part of our story, and we will share it soon, but what is important now is that this is not the only story.”
It came as Francia’s mother Virginia Almendarez confirmed that no money was exchanged between the pair.
Speaking to Al Rojo Vivo she said: “No, not even a single penny. Some people are treating this as if there was money involved.
“Francia did it for friendship, for her love for Selena, and because they care a lot for each other. She didn’t receive any benefit from this, only the benefit of Selena having a better life.”
She also revealed that Selena rented a house for them both to live in as they recovered from the transplant, with “nurses to care for them.”
Selana had previously announced the news with an Instagram post of the pair in hospital holding hands.
She wrote: “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering.
“It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.”
Selena continued: “And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
And helping to raise some awareness about Lupus, she added: “Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. For more information regarding Lupus please go to the Lupus Research Alliance website: www.lupusresearch.org”
