SCARLETT Moffatt has admitted she suffers from terrible anxiety when meeting fans.

The I’m A Celebrity star worries so much what the public think of her, she finds it tricky to not give in to the public demands for autographs and selfies.

She told The Mirror: “I’m my own worst enemy. I suffer from anxiety.

“Because I like people, when they come up to me in the street and want a chat and a selfie I’m very flattered.

“I do miss a lot of trains because of it!

“I daren’t say, ‘Oh I’m really sorry I’ve got to go now,’ because I’m sure they’re going to think, ‘She’s rude, no she doesn’t!’

She added: “And it makes me late for everything. I even set off early but I’m still just late and that’s the worst thing!”

The former Gogglebox star has experienced a steady rise to fame after winning I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here last year, landing presenting gigs on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Channel Four show Streetmate.

She also split from boyfriend Luke Crodden – although the pair reportedly got back together recently.

Her anxiety admission comes after she spoke about coming face to face with a childhood bully during an appearance on This Morning last week.

She explained: “I was in Asda and I see this girl I hadn’t seen in ten years and all of a sudden all the feelings of fear came back.”

At first Scarlett, who has just been announced as a presenter on I’m A Celeb Extra Camp, tried to avoid her but then plucked up the courage to walk towards her – but she was shocked at what happened next.

“I walked up and she was like ‘Oh hi Scarlett. My children think I am really cool because I am friends with you’”.

Furious that she was suggesting they were friends, she told the girl: “We were never friends. I had to move school because of you and your girl gang.

“I said I hope your kids never meet any one like you at school.”

Scarlett then admitted she had a ‘mic drop’ moment, saying: “I dropped my basket and walked out.”

Opening up about her tough time at school, she said she thinks the bullying made her stronger.

When quizzed if it made her how she is today, she replied: “I think so because I know now to never make anyone else feel that way.

“My dad always said that bullies are like sandpaper because the more they wear you down they make you polished.”
