PIERS Morgan has declared war on Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas.
The Good Morning Britain presenter has come to the defence of co-host Charlotte Hawkins after Ballas criticised her on Saturday night’s live show.
“She’s a piece of work Shirley isn’t she,” Piers said to Charlotte.
“She doesn’t like you. She likes the good looking guys but doesn’t like the pretty girls.”
He added: “She’s going to try and knife you and I’m going to stop her doing it. She’s got a thing about you.
“You looked fine to me so today we’re going to go to war with Shirley. She is a sour-faced creature who needs to be repelled. We’re coming after her.”
Susanna Reid, who previously competed on Strictly, diplomatically added: “We’re definitely all for Charlotte and fighting the good battle and I think we need to pick our battles.”
But Piers wasn’t done and made a throat cutting motion to Shirley and added: “We’re coming for you, you take on one of ours we hunt as a pack on our show.”
Charlotte and her partner Brendan Cole sexed up their performance as promised – and their saucy Top Gun inspired Tango made a big impression.
As they faced the panel, Brendan admitted messing up his footwork, saying: “I messed up. It was me. I put my hands up.”
But he got a roasting from Shirley over the “rise and falls” in the tango.
Brendan hit back, insisting there were none in the routine, and they ended up bickering.
He said: “I’m sorry, but there were no rise and falls.”
Shirley snipped back: “You should play it back, my dear.”
