The latest Nintendo Direct follows a big games reveal in January, where Mario Tennis Aces debuted, and the Nintendo Labo announcement.
Announcing the news today, the official Nintendo UK Twitter account posted: “#NintendoDirect is coming! Tune in on March 8th at 22:00 (UK time) for half an hour of information about upcoming #NintendoSwitch and Nintendo #3DS games, including new details on #MarioTennis Aces.”
The first Nintendo Direct of 2018 was a Nintendo Direct Mini in January, in which nine new Nintendo Switch games were revealed.
These games were Dark Souls Remastered, Mario Tennis Aces, The World Ends With You Final Remix, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, Fe, Celeste and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa.
A few weeks later Nintendo held another online announcement, during which they revealed Nintendo Labo for the first time.
Nintendo Switch fans will now surely be speculating what games could get announced at the Nintendo Direct.
Ahead of the last Nintendo Direct, rumours were circulating that GTA 5 and the original Red Dead Redemption could get announced by Rockstar for the Switch.
In terms of Nintendo exclusives, the big games on the horizon are Pokemon Switch and Metroid Prime 4.
The rumour mill has been abuzz with claims that Pokemon Switch could get released this year, so a Direct announcing it would make sense.
Other possible announcements include a port of Wii U title Super Smash Bros and also more details on the upcoming Nintendo Switch paid-for online service.
