AMERICAN rapper Nelly has allegedly been arrested for rape following an incident on his tour bus.
Police in Washington arrested him at around 7am this morning after the incident at 3.45am, reported TMZ.
The musician, 42, is currently on tour with country band Florida Georgia Line.
He and the group are scheduled to perform tonight in the town of Ridgefield.
Nelly, who was born Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., came to fame following the release of his solo album Country Grammar in 2000.
The record has sold 8.4 million copies in the USA and peaked at number one in the Billboard charts.
His hit singles include Hot In Here and Ride Wit Me with the latter clocking up nearly 90 million views on YouTube.
He cancelled his tour to the UK in December 2015 for fear he could be the subject of a terror attack.
Writing about his decision to pull out, the O2 Ritz in Manchester said in a statement: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Nelly has been forced to postpone his UK tour.
“Customers are advised to hold on to their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced shortly and tickets will remain valid for the new shows.
“We apologise for any disappointment & inconvenience caused.”
