Mykonos holidays: What to expect at winner of ‘World’s Best Boutique Hotel’ | Beach Holidays | Travel

A delicious aroma will engulf your senses as you enter Kensho Boutique Hotel & Suites, and you know immediately this is going to be special.

A spritz of Kensho’s own fragrance around the lobby is just one of the personal touches added by the hotel owner to impress guests, but while it’s natural to be sceptical whether the rest of the stay will live up to expectations, you needn’t worry.

Located a short drive from Mykonos Town, the five-star boutique hotel, which only opened in 2016, boasts 35 luxurious rooms, and each one has a slightly different design.

While some rooms offer their own private pools, others allow you to bathe in the luxury of a hot tub on your balcony overlooking Ornos Beach.

The likes of Millie Macintosh, Lucy Mecklenburgh, and even Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan have all taken advantage of Kensho’s peaceful setting.

And although a complimentary shuttle service allows guests to travel into Mykonos Town, you’ll find it hard to think of an excuse to leave.

The hotel’s rooms, layout and design are all very stylish, but its the friendly service from staff and the hotel restaurant that will really give you something to write home about

The Kensho Fine Dining Restaurant, headed by chef George Stylianoudakis, offers a culinary mix of traditional Greek cuisine and nouveau cooking.

Awarded Best Food Styling/Presentation at last year’s World Restaurant Awards, its not hard to see why. Not eating here would be a mistake.

To taste everything Mr Stylianoudakis take advantage of the ten course tasting menu, where you’ll be greeted with food to pretty to eat.

You’ll be baffled over how few ingredients on the plate can create such an explosion of taste in your mouth – the food perfectly compliments everything this hotel stands for, which is a ridiculous amount of style and feeling rejuvenated when you leave.

Below the restaurant and the main pool area, with its plush poolside seating and infinity pool that lights up like a star-filled sky at night, you’ll find Kensho’s very own spa, offering even the most frequent of spa-goers a new and different experience.

‘The Cave’ has a jacuzzi overlooked by an opening in the rocks, allowing a glimmer of daylight to shine down on you, and loungers which offer light, colour and aroma therapy once you’ve finished bathing.

A wide selection of massage treatments are also available, as well as a Hammam and nail and hair salon services.

Perfect for bigger groups, Kensho also raises the bar of luxury with its very own villa, just a ten minute drive away from the boutique hotel.

Its sunbathing terrace overlooking a panoramic sea view is just the ultimate way to feel like royalty.
