Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wedding news: Suits star undergoes baptism | Life | Life & Style

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, are getting married on May 19 this year, and in preparation for the big day the American actress has been baptised into the Church of England in a secret ceremony.

The baptism was a 45-minute-long intimate service conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Chapel Royal on Tuesday evening.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were present, reports The Daily Mail, but Prince William and the Queen did not attend.

Her baptism was immediately followed by her confirmation, which means she is now able to join her fiancé Harry at Holly Communion.

While the Suits star did not need to become Anglican to marry Harry in church, she confirmed last November, at the time of the couple’s engagement, she would be baptised and confirmed with the Queen as head of the Church of England.

Other preparations for the wedding have been underway, and one of the most exciting parts of the big day royal fans are looking forward to is the wedding dress Meghan will wear.

A source told Look: “Meghan is like any other bride preparing for her dream day.

“The wedding dress has been the biggest expense, and the budget has now doubled from what it originally was.”

Reports from MailOnline, News.com.au and Hollywood Life now claim Meghan’s dress will cost almost £400,000, at £396,000.

Meghan is also said to have spent £100,000 on wedding celebrations and £120,000 on her honeymoon.

But, the source noted that it is Meghan who has likely footed the bill for the holiday.

Express.co.uk have asked Kensington Palace for comment to confirm these wedding details.

Paul Burrell appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday to discuss the royals, including Princess Diana, Prince Harry and his bride.

So what did he have to say about the Suits star
