Writing on his Twitter account, Baz said: “Danny Boyle will direct [the] next 007 film, Bond 25, late this year after shooting All You Need Is Love for Working Title – as long as [the] Bond screenplay by John Hodge meets approval.
“[Bond producers] Barbara Broccoli [and] Michael G.Wilson and Daniel Craig are ‘willing’ this to happen.”
Assuming Baz’s claims are true, the 007 producers and Craig must have a lot confidence in Boyle – especially as they’ll be turning down Purvis and Wade, who have written the last six Bond movies since 1999’s The World Is Not Enough.
Boyle famously directed Craig’s Bond in a short film with The Queen for the London 2012 Olympics’ Opening Ceremony, so if all goes ahead as planned it will be something of a reunion for the filmmaker and actor.
James Bond 25 is set for release in November 2019.
