LOUISE Redknapp is a household name thanks to her pop career and stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
She has been in the headlines this year after her 19-year marriage to former footballer Jamie ended – here’s what we know about her…
Who is Louise Redknapp, how old is she and what is her background?
Born Louise Nurding in Lewisham in 1974, the 42-year-old attended the Italia Conti Academy in childhood, before joining girl band Eternal after being scouted in a nightclub aged 16.
After their 1992 formation the band’s debut album Always & Forever went four times platinum in the UK.
Louise then left the band to embark on a solo career in 1995 with three successful albums, and to date has sold over 15 million albums in the UK.
Enjoying a successful modelling career too, Louise moved into TV presenting with stints on This Morning and Something for the Weekend.
She was a judge on the BBC talent show So You Think You Can Dance in 2010 and 2011.
In 2016 Louise came second on Strictly Come Dancing.
How long has Louise been married to Jamie Redknapp and how many children do they have?
Louise married former footballer Jamie Redknapp on June 1998 in Bermuda and they have two sons called Charley, 13, and Beau, eight.
At the time, pals close to the couple blamed the infamous Strictly Come Dancing ‘curse’ for putting strain on their relationship.
Louise’s career prospects soared after she appeared on the BBC One show last year and her work schedule was involving a lot of travel.
The Sun’s Dan Wooton reported that her “close friendship with Daisy Lowe” could be to blame.
Louise is currently on the road taking part in a three-month tour of the musical Cabaret.
Her estranged husband Jamie, however, is refusing to see her in the breakthrough role due to a row over Daisy Lowe.
Is Louise Redknapp re-launching her pop career? Is she doing a tour?
The Sun exclusively revealed that Louise has been back in the studio recording new music with friends she has made while working on the touring musical Cabaret.
Louise is even planning to release new tracks in the coming months as she continues to shed her “mum-at-home image”.
It’s now been revealed she is doing her first live show in 15 years, at London’s Under The Bridge on December 22.
Louise said: “I went into the studio to rework some of my original tracks. I can’t wait to be back on stage performing all of the hits and my favourite covers.”
After tickets for the comeback show sold out in under 10 minutes, Louise announced a full tour for January 2018.
Kicking off in Manchester on January 20, the tour will then visit Glasgow, Birmingham and London.
