BRITISH supermodel-turned-actress Cara Delevingne is famed for her thick dark eyebrows, as well as her filthy sense of humour.
Here’s everything you need to know about the actress – including why she buzzed off all her hair…
Who is Cara Delevingne?
Cara Delevigne is a 25-year-old British model who comes from an upper middle class family complete with viscounts, lords and ladies-in-waiting.
Openly bisexual, the star became the A-list name on high fashion catwalks from 2009.
She has since modelled for Burberry, Mulberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Jason Wu.
The star is shorter than the common ‘norm’ for model runways – coming in at 5′ 8”.
Before becoming a model, she attended the highly revered Bedales boarding school.
Despite her success in the fashion industry, Cara has made little secret of the fact that her true desire was to be an actress.
The actress Joan Collins is one of Cara’s godparents.
Since childhood she’s had dyspraxia, which makes movement more difficult for her than usual, and also suffered from depression as a child, apparently slamming her head into a tree in an attempt to stop the pain.
Cara is incredibly popular among the rich and famous, and counts her Suicide Squad co-star Margot Robbie among her most recent friend acquisitions.
In terms of the music industry, she’s also bezzies with Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Lily Allen and Nicki Minaj, among many more.
But her number one pal is probably Kendall Jenner, fellow supermodel and social media queen.
What films has she been in?
Anna Karenina (2012)
Cara’s first appearance on the big screen came with minor role Princess Sorokina in Anna Karenina.
The film was led by Keira Knightly and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Anna Karenina is a film adaptation of the novel written by Leo Tolstoy.
Paper Towns (2015)
Her first leading lady role, Cara took on the role of the mysterious Margo – who goes missing after a night with her next door neighbour.
Originally a teen novel by John Green, Cara starred alongside Nat Wolff, who played Q – who placed his neighbour and her carefree nature on a pedestal and tries to find her after she runs away.
Suicide Squad (2016)
Cara took on the role of Enchantress in the DC Universe’s first look into the villains, Suicide Squad.
Her character started life as archaeologist June Moon, who becomes possessed by the million years old sorceress who wants to destroy the world after discovering the modern world idolises machines rather than gods.
The film was critically divisive and ultimately panned as a result, but starred Hollywood A-listers including Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Cara is entering the world of epic fantasy in comic book adaptation of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
Starring alongside Dane Dehaan, who plays Valerian, Cara takes on the role of Laureline, his co-pilot on their mission across the universe.
John Goodman, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke and Clive Owen are also included among the cast.
London Fields (2017)
Cara and Amber Heard lead the cast in this crime thriller.
She will play Kath Talent in a film that will see Amber’s Nicola Six try and discover who her murderer will be before it’s too late.
The film includes actors Billy Bob Thornton, Theo James, Jason Isaacs and Jim Sturgess.
Life in a Year (2018)
Cara is currently filming her toughest role to date – a woman dying with terminal cancer.
She will star in the film opposite Will Smith’s son Jaden, who will play her love interest Daryn.
Together the pair go on an adventure to give her an entire life in the year she has left.
Why did Cara Delevingne go bald?
The model turned actress shaved off her hair for her role in Life In A Year.
Since then she has been experimenting with the new style, painting her head silver for the Met gala, and leaving her head bare at the black carpet at the MTV Movie Awards.
She later hit back at those judging her for the way she looks, and wrote online: “I am tired of society defining beauty for us. Strip away the clothes, Wipe Off the make up, cut off the hair.
“Remove all the material possessions. Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”
She is now sporting a brunette pixie crop.
Is Cara Delevingne single?
Cara dated musician St Vincent, real name Annie Clark, from December 2014 until 2015, which was her most high profile relationship to date.
She said during their romance: “I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I’m feeling so happy with who I am these days.
“And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle.”
They may have split, but Annie and Cara have been spotted together in March 2017 at a theatre in New York, prompting speculation they’re rekindling their romance.
Through her career so far, Cara has been linked to the likes of Amber Heard and Harry Styles, and she dated The Fate of the Furious star Michelle Rodriguez.
Michelle went on to date Zac Efron after they broke up while Cara moved on with St Vincent.
Cara has said of her “liquid” sexuality: “As a child I used gay as a bad word, as in, ‘That’s so gay.’ All my friends did.
“[My parents] have been so, so supportive. I’m obviously in love, so if people want to say I’m gay, that’s great. But we’re all liquid – we change, we grow.”
What did Cara say about Harvey Weinstein?
Cara Delevingne has accused Harvey Weinstein of sexually harassing her and claimed he tried to force himself on her.
The model-turned-actress said after meeting the Hollywood producer at a restaurant, he asked her to come up to his hotel room where another woman was waiting.
Weinstein then apparently told the two women to kiss, which Cara said she escaped from by suddenly breaking out into song.
She made the explosive claims on Instagram as she told how Wenstein tried to kiss her “on the lips”.
Cara has made two films for the Weinstein company – including her breakout role in Paper Towns in 2015 and recently released Tulip Fever.
When did Cara Delevingne release her book?
The talented Brit has penned her first novel, Mirror, Mirror, which is said to be a “coming of age” read for teenagers.
It hit shelves in the UK in October, 2017.
Cara said the varied plotline centres on issues of “sexuality, identity, friendship and betrayal.”
In the book’s introduction, she writes: “I wanted to tell a story that gives the reader a realistic picture of the turbulent roller-coaster teenage years.
“Above all, I want to tell my readers that it’s OK if you don’t know who you are yet.
“As long as you learn what it is that makes you happy, and follow your heart, everything will be OK.”
