Gran accidentally buys a VERY adult cartoon book for her six-year-old granddaughter

A WOMAN was left feeling pretty foolish after buying a VERY adult cartoon book for her six-year-old granddaughter.

According to Twitter user Tiffany, from the US, her mother had failed to peek inside the book before presenting it to her little girl as a gift.

From the cover, the cartoon book looked pretty innocent

Unfortunately though, Tiffany also hadn’t bothered to inspect its content, but was alerted when her daughter, while reading it with her dad, exclaimed: “I don’t even know what this means.”

In response, he asked his wife: “Did your mom get this as a joke? Is this a serious book?”

The glossy hardback, entitled If Animals Could Talk, and apparently bought from the kids section of American book chain Barnes & Noble, features cute illustrations of a bear, a crocodile and a blowfish on its cover.

But a quick flick through the pages reveals that what the animals “say” is definitely not suitable for a young audience.

The contents of the book certainly aren't meant for young eyes

A kangaroo asks: “Where the f*** are my keys” while rooting through its pouch, while a polar bear admits: “I think I have a coke problem.”

Meanwhile a fluffy yellow chick exclaims: “Aight, let’s tear the roof off this mutha f***a!”

Sharing snaps of the pages, Tiffany tweeted: “I’m dying. My mom bought this book for my six-year-old and I just called to ask if she had actually opened the book. She hadn’t.”

Her tweet, which was posted yesterday, notched up more than 33,500 retweets and 89,289 likes.

In response, a fellow Twitter user wrote: “OMG please let this be available as an Audible book by Samuel L. Jackson.”

Another commented: “Good thing you took a gander before busting it out with the kids!!!” while one observed: “That’s the best Grandma Foul ever.”

Tiffany admitted: “I couldn’t even talk when I called her.”

Earlier this year we told how a gran knitted a shark blanket for her grandson – but the end result was hilariously inappropriate.

And these grandparents were furious when they bought their eight-year-old a bath set that contained a lewd message.
