Flight news: Severe turbulence on United Airlines plane caused passengers to throw up | Travel News | Travel

Thousands of passengers were left disappointed last week when their flights were cancelled due to severe weather warnings.

Passengers aboard the United Airline’s CRJ-200 experienced a flight from hell last Friday.

The 50 seater flight into Dulles airport on the outskirts of Washington, took off from Charlottesville, Virginia, as planned before hitting a particularly bad patch of turbulence.

As the plane emerged through the other side, the pilot sent a report to the Aviation Weather Centre.

The report from the weather centre said: “Very bumpy on descent. Pretty much everyone on the plane threw up. Pilots were on the verge of throwing up.”

A later report from United Airlines, repoted by CNN, delved into further detail.

“Air Wisconsin Flight 3833 operating as United Express from Charlottesville, Va. to Washington Dulles International encountered turbulence because of high winds.”

”A few customers onboard the regional jet became ill as the aircraft was preparing to land. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to its gate. No customers required medical attention because of the turbulence.”

It’s not yet clear just how many passengers were ill whilst on board but if the pilots were struggling to settle their stomachs it must have been bad.

The strong winds were caused by Storm Riley that hit the East Coast of America.

According to TIME, the weather conditions were so severe several major airlines including JetBlue, American, Delta and Southwest had to cancel flights.

This, however, isn’t the first time passengers have experienced a flight from hell.

A viral video spread after a child was filmed screaming throughout an entire flight from Germany to New York

Before departing the mother of the child was heard pleading with cabin crew to turn the WIFI on so she could entertain the child.

But to no avail, the three-year-old child shouted and screamed through from takeoff to land.

One passenger explained: “He was climbing all over the chairs, he was just screaming, would not let up, he was running up and down the aisles, there was nothing she could do”.
