The tots begin to overwhelm Priya and she ends up shouting at them, as well as throwing a plate of food at the wall when they won’t eat what she’s cooked for them.
However, her load is lightened when she comes clean to her father Rishi (Bhasker Patel), but soon his suspicions are raised.
Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) finds bruises on his daughter Eliza after she’s been in Priya’s care and quickly races her to hospital.
All fingers point toward Priya when doctors confirm that the injuries were not sustained from a seizure.
When a social worker comes knocking, Rishi turns on his daughter and doubts about her stability are raised when he tells them his Priya lost her temper as she babysat the children.
Fiona Wade, who plays Priya, has revealed what she thinks of this gripping new storyline.
The 38-year-old actress divulged to Digital Spy: ”I was quite surprised, because it’s something very different and quite sensitive.
“I was actually more worried about the fact that I just didn’t want to scream and shout in front of the children on set. But it’s another great little storyline and it’s something very different to what Priya’s had before.
“It was good to get my teeth into something else.”
Naturally, Jai is worried about what’s been going on, and so is Eliza’s mother Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye).
Priya is absolutely devastated when she finds out she’s a suspect in the abuse case.
She also has to move out of Holdgate, which isolates her even further.
Fiona added: “She just feels even more alone, so it’s a tough time for her.”
Can Priya prove her innocence? Or will this be the start of a very serious storyline for her?
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
