Emmerdale spoilers: Liv Flaherty’s ‘dark’ storyline REVEALED | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod has revealed that Liv Flaherty (played by Isobel Steele) will be in a very “dark” place in upcoming episodes.

This comes after Liv revealed she was struggling with her sexuality in a recent instalment of the ITV show.

Speaking to TV Times, Iain said: “Isobel Steele, who plays Liv, is super-talented and a rare find and we will be exploring the limits of her acting talents to the extreme.

“Her storyline is going to be quite big and dark in places, but I have no doubt that she will smash it.”

Last month, Liv fell out with her best friend Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) over a mutual friend.

Liv had tried to set Gabby up with Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), but he was actually interested in dating her.

On Valentine’s Day, Jacob sent Liv a romantic card, but when Gabby found out about this she completely lost it.

Seething with jealousy, Gabby tattooed the word “s**k” on Liv and exposed the semi-permanent inking at her birthday party.

Meanwhile, Liv has found it difficult to understand her asexuality and recently opened up to her brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

During a touching heart-to-heart conversation last week, Liv admitted she was confused about her sexuality.

“It’s okay to be unsure,” her brother said in response. “You don’t have to rush to label yourself.

“I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but you’ll get there, whatever that is, with whoever. But you’re my little sister. So from now on, whatever you go through, I go through. It’s you and me.”

The emotional scene was a huge hit with viewers, with many rushing to Twitter to praise the show.

One wrote: “So glad a UK soap, and one of my favourite shows, is finally giving some ace representation.”

Another added: “Liv’s asexuality storyline is so important and @emmerdale has been doing a great job of it so far, I hope the respect and realism continues.”

A third commented: “Thank you @emmerdale for this liv storyline, thank you!”

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
