The Ghost singer has been putting on a brave face after her dad Sean was revealed as a con artist who fleeced wealthy victims out of millions.

Sean, 51, now faces up to ten years in jail after being convicted of two counts of fraud for his part in a €5.4 million (£4.7m) get-rich-quick scam in Ireland and for failing to declare huge earnings to the taxman.

Ella, 21, who shot to fame in the ninth series of the talent show, answered the door when police raided the family’s £650,000 family home in Tetney, near Grimsby, Lincolnshire in April 2013.

Ex-car salesman Henderson – who manages Ella – denied the get-rich-quick scam and VAT fraud at two separate trials last year, but was convicted by juries at Sheffield Crown Court.

The first trial heard he had preyed upon “wealthy individuals” and taken their money through “lies deceit and deception”.

The second jury was told he had failed to declare “sizeable amounts of commission” for VAT after his business in the gas and power industry got into difficulty.

He was found not guilty of theft yesterday after he was accused of falsely acquiring £40,000 of finance.

The businessman was granted bail and will now be sentenced at a later date.

The climax of the third trial meant a reporting restriction banning any mention of Ella was lifted by the court yesterday.
