Ella is one of the ITV talent show’s most successful exports ever but is no longer on the company’s roster, it has been announced.
The star scored a big No1 with Ghost back in 2014, becoming the biggest-selling single of that summer in the UK. It also made waves in the US.
Her debut album Chapter One was also a hit; being certified Platinum and coasting to the top of the charts.
However after a long period of silence, it’s been announced that she is no longer with Syco.
Sources told The Sun on Sunday that delays in production of her second album, and a perceived loss of momentum, are to blame.
“Her second album has been pushed back again and again but it just isn’t up to scratch,” an insider claimed.
“A new beginning seemed the best option. Meetings have taken place to discuss her future… and the result was to let her go.”
A spokesperson confirmed: “Syco and Ella Henderson are parting company.
“We wish Ella all the best for the future and thank her for her hugely successful contribution over the years.”
Currently Little Mix, James Arthur, Rak-Su, Louis Tomlinson and Louisa Johnson are the only X Factor graduates still signed to Syco.
Johnson has yet to release her album, more than two years since she won the show.
Tomlinson too is also yet to put out a full-length LP, although he had a Top 10 success last year with Back To You.
