A DELIGHTED Eamonn Holmes has announced the news his son is engaged to his girlfriend – saying it’s brought “much happiness” to both the lovebirds’ families.
This Morning host Eamonn, who had 28-year-old son Declan with ex-wife Gabrielle, took to Twitter to share the joyful news about his engagement to Dr Jenny Gouk.
The 57-year-old dad-of-four, currently wed to co-host and Strictly star Ruth Langsford, seemed very pleased to be seeing his eldest child head off towards holy matrimony.
Sharing a pic of events director Declan with Jenny, he wrote: “I am proud to announce the engagement today of Number 1 Son @decholmes & his now fiancee Dr @JennyGouk. Much happiness in both our families.”
While Declan’s love story is just beginning, Eamonn and Ruth have been exploring how to keep their marriage alive in their sex documentary The Seven Year Itch.
The pair have attended swingers’ parties and organised orgies – and Ruth has even dressed up as a whip-wielding, leather-clad dominatrix.
But Eamonn claims to have more to worry about than the problem of spicing up his seven-year marriage.
The Northern Irish TV personality has said he’s monitoring Ruth closely because he fears she will run off with a fellow dancer on Strictly – or, more pressingly, that she won’t be home to make his dinner.
Mr Holmes may have a lot more to worry about now Ruth, 57, has accidentally called her pro partner Anton du Beke “Eamonn” live on TV.
And the pair were seen having a very warm hug after rehearsals today – which won’t, of course, escape Eamonn’s notice.
After slamming Ruth’s initial Strictly performances, told the Sunday People last week that he would know if Ruth is having an affair if she starts coordinating her clothes with Anton, 51.
