Eileen (played by Sue Cleaver) was horrified when Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) revealed the truth about Pat’s (Connor McIntyre) involvement in Coronation Street’s Calcutta flats scheme and almost handed him into the police.
But after a tense conversation, which saw Pat promise he wasn’t hiding anymore secrets, Eileen decided to reconsider.
In tonight’s episode, she will beg Tim to keep his findings a secret as tries to hide details of his crimes from her friends.
Fans know that the pair are set to have an explosive showdown in upcoming scenes – will Eileen snap and murder her husband?
Eileen is rumoured to push her husband over a cliff face, supposedly finishing him off once and for all.
Coronation Street boss Kate Oates previously teased that Pat’s comeuppance will happen very soon as she teased details of his downfall.
She told Radio Times: “Connor [McIntyre] is so up for this challenged. He’s so excited about it and he’s playing it brilliantly.
“What I like about Phelan’s downfall is that it’s very much to do with Eileen. It’s to do with her realising who’s she’s married.”
Kate added: “It’s to do with Nicola [Rubenstein] and that child. You’ve got the high drama balanced out with the emotional family domestic drama, which is when I think Corrie is at its best.
“There’ll be a few twists and turns – we have some stunts coming up, which will be exciting.”
While Eileen knows about Pat’s property scheme, she is yet to find out about the murders he has carried out.
The soap villain killed Vinny Ashford (Ian Kelsey), Andy Carver (Oliver Farnsworth) and Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) after they came close to exposing him.
Earlier this week, Pat was seen digging their bodies up from The Mill building site after he learned the lake he had hidden them in was about to be drowned.
As Eileen struggles to cope with knowing about her husband’s deplorable crimes, will Pat finally confess to the murders tonight?
And how far will Eileen go to protect herself and hide the truth about Phelan from her friends?
Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
