CORONATION Street fans are overjoyed at Nathan Curtis being found guilty of rape.
Viewers of the ITV soap flocked to social media to share their happiness as Nathan and his sick gang were convinced of raping Bethany Platt after grooming and abusing her for a year.
The schoolgirl – who is played by actress Lucy Fallon in the ITV soap – sobbed as she watched her abusers be found guilty of their vile crimes but viewers could only cheer.
“Someone pass me a Kleenex!” wrote one fan. “Coronation Street take a bow! Unreal scenes!”
“Justice is served at last,” said another.
“Hell yeahhhhh that sicko Nathan deserves the death penalty, wish it ended that way for everyone in Bethany’s situation.”

Others praise actress Lucy Fallon for her portrayal of the tough scenes, with one writing: “I got very emotional when Bethany got justice.
“@LucyFallon you are such an exceptional actress, well done.”
Another tweeted: “@LucyFallon you’ve done yourself proud.”
“Absolutely superb @lucyfallon, you’ve been incredible throughout the whole storyline.”
The word “guilty” rang out in court repeatedly as Nathan was found guilty of rape and conspiracy to commit rape, as was policeman Neil and the other two perverts who gang raped Bethany after paying Nathan.
Bethany sat motionless and silent staring down Nathan as he discovered his fate.
Walking out of court with her mum Sarah, Bethany broke down in tears of relief after the verdict was revealed.
Earlier in the episode Nathan tried to manipulate the jury by claiming Bethany had caused the entire thing due to her tragic home life.
“I was trying to rescue Bethany,” he said.
“When you’re in love as much as I was common sense goes out of the window.”
But Nathan’s manipulations came to an end when the prosecution’s barrister confronted him about the payments the other defendants had made to Nathan, with banknotes traced back to him.
Fortunately the jury saw through this after listening to Bethany’s own emotional testimony.
Bravely refusing to give evidence behind a screen so she could stare her rapists in the eyes, Bethany relived the horror they put her through after Mel delivered her to court in Monday night’s episodes.
Taking on the three barristers for Nathan, Neil and Ian, Bethany stood against them and told the truth.
Reliving the horror of when Neil first raped her she said: “I kept thinking there’s no way Nathan’s going to let this happen – any minute he’s going to burst through the door and make it stop. But he never did, he just left me there.”
“Nathan went mad and dragged me outside,” she said of when he assaulted her adding: “He burned my arm with a cigarette.”
“Nathan kept telling me it turned him on seeing me with other men. I thought there was going to only be one man in there but there wasn’t – there were three of them.
“I tried to tell them that there was a mistake and I’d gone in the wrong room but they didn’t listen and Mel just shut the door.”
“I couldn’t, Neil was a policeman. He told me if I said anything then he’d do something bad to my family – he’d been in my house.”
She added: “They thought they could do whatever they wanted to us, that we would be too scared to do anything but they were wrong.
“Now I know exactly what they are – pathetic sick cowards and I’m not frightened of them anymore.”
