CARRIE Fisher fans were left in floods of tears after seeing a picture of her beloved dog Gary watching her in the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer.
The popular pooch has his own Instagram account and was well-known for accompanying Carrie everywhere she went before her death in December, aged 60.
The latest post uploaded to his Insta page sees the French bulldog sitting looking at Carrie in her role as General Leia.
Accompanying the post is the caption: “Just watched the new trailer of The Last Jedi and my mom looks more beautiful than ever. #garymisseshismom #garyloveshismom #garyloveshisfans #garyfisher #thelastjedi #starwars”
Fans were quick to leave their comments, which included: “Love you Gary! Miss your mom too!! Take care buddy!!!
“Yes, she does. I saw the trailer & when her wonderful, amazing, beautiful face came on, I started to get teary eyed. Loved your Mom so much Gary.
“It always hurts a bit to see here She was loved and always been loved Big hug Gary.
“Don’t make me cry.
“This just makes my heart ache.”
Twitter also contained heartbroken Carrie fans, with one writing: “i’m not even a star wars fan but i really like carrie and gary is so cute that this makes me so upset.”
While another said: “So I just cried looking at a photo of Gary Fisher watching the Star Wars trailer. Poor boy.”
The full-length trailer for The Last Jedi has had fans freaking out over how brilliant it looks.
The movie, out December 14, looks set to explore Rey’s unprecedented mastery of the Force – as she’s trained by Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker – as well as bringing back to our screens, for the last time, Carrie Fisher.

The 154-second trailer features all the main stars of the 2015 film The Force Awakens – including Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren – back in swashbuckling action.
And it looks like villain Kylo Ren is more than ready to step into the Darth Vader-style destiny that awaits him.
Meanwhile Finn is seen battling Captain Phasma, played by Gwendoline Christie, and Kylo Ren is seen preparing to take down his own mother, Leia, in his fight for supremacy.
And Rey is seen telling Kylo “I need someone to show me my place in all this”, suggesting she may be susceptible to going over to the dark side.
At one point Rey seems to be floating in the air – and in immense pain – as Supreme Leader Snoke, played by Andy Serkis, tells her “fulfill your destiny”.
Elsewhere a cuddly new creature called a “porg” joins Chewbacca to keep him company after his human companion Han Solo fell to the wayside in the last film.
And then there are a host of epic battle scenes to come, with old war machines setting off to stamp out the Rebel forces.
But the icing on the cake will surely be the eye-popping ship battles, with good and evil set to clash among the stars once more.
It’s been almost two years since the first Star Wars reboot, The Force Awakens, arrived and fans are desperate for more.
The new trailer from Star Wars: The Last Jedi was unveiled at half-time during the US National Football League (NFL) game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears in Chicago, and was shared on the franchise’s Twitter page shortly afterwards.
Since going online it has had almost 20 million views in four hours and with 66 days to go until the movie comes out, the excitement is now very real.
